Homesteading the Dream Wood

The Dream Wood is vast, dangerous, and largely untouched—a golden opportunity for those bold enough to carve a future from its shadows. Here, fortune beckons, and lives may be remade. To harness this potential, the Grand Concord, ruling body of Chalameria, has issued a challenge: register your intent at the capital, claim a plot, and work the land for a year and a day. Survive, and you will be granted a land grant; fail, and all is lost.

It is a high-risk, high-reward endeavor, drawing pioneers from across Chalameria who gamble their fate on the promise of prosperity. Yet Chalameria is not a realm of raw capitalism, but a feudal society bound by merit. Land cannot be purchased outright with coin, for all land is held in perpetuity by the Concord. Grants are bestowed in trust—given to homesteaders not as possessions, but as responsibilities. Each homesteader becomes a steward of their land, charged with improving both their holding and the Dream Wood itself.

Though land may be sold or transferred once claimed, such exchanges are rare. Those who have fought, bled, and sacrificed to secure their place seldom part with their hard-earned gains. In this way, the Dream Wood offers both peril and promise, where survival itself forges legacy.

You can become part of this legacy—working with or against the homesteaders—as the land is built up or squandered. Through hard work, roleplay at events, between-game actions, the expenditure of in-game resources or out-of-play Atlanta Goblin Stamps, and the sanction of the Orders of Chalameria, you too can carve out a place in the Dream Wood.

Do you have the will to endure—and the vision to thrive?

The Cerenys Institute: Grandpa Buff’s School for Exceptionally Gifted Children

Grandpa Buff’s school, Commonly known as the Cerenys Institute, and more formally as The Whispering Pines Institute, this bastion of learning was founded during the height of the undead flood. What began as a humble orphanage soon grew into a sanctuary of shelter and education for displaced children and refugees of the Dream Wood. Today, the Institute rises as an impressive structure, its gilded doors concealing equal measures of promise and mystery.

The children within are good-natured, yet often unruly and hardened—understandable for orphans who have lost everything in such unprecedented times. Still, the school continues to draw remarkable talent and resilient spirits. Beneath its foundations, however, lie the ruined catacombs, where dark secrets stir, casting long shadows over the outpost.

This tension between the innocence of children and the harsh realities of war continues to shape life at the outpost, offering both challenge and opportunity. From academics seeking to expand their knowledge, to professionals striving to train the cryptids of the Dream Wood, the school has become a crossroads of possibility—where discovery, danger, and adventure await.

The Growing Town of Emberton

Between the Outpost and the Institute grows a community where adventurers leave their mark. Every building offers chances for roleplay, storytelling, and enrichment within Chalameria. Though no mechanical rewards come from roleplay-only assets, their true worth lies in the stories you create. By raising homes, shops, or halls, you enrich both your tale and the shared tapestry of Chalameria.

This place is more than stone and timber—it is a stage where choices and creativity take root. Born from the ashes of past conflicts and renewed by the Phoenix, Emberton rises as a promise of renewal. What was once ruin is now a foundation, as settlers arrive with purpose to build a bright future.
